Back to School Preparation

by Cara Simpson, RD, CPT, CHC

Now that school is back in session it’s time to learn some helpful tricks to manage a busy schedule! This time of year is so busy that it often leads to missed workouts and convenience food. While this is okay sometimes, here are a few tips to make sure it doesn’t happen all the time!

  • Workout first thing in the morning – The time you wake up is likely the only thing you have control over during the day. You can do a workout at home to save even more time.

  • Meal preparation – prepare food on Sunday to have for the week. You can roast vegetables, boil brown rice and bake chicken to have ready to go for at least Monday and Tuesday.

  • Have frozen fruits and vegetables on hand – By having these on hand you won’t have to worry about spoilage and they are quick and easy to prepare.

  • Develop a bedtime ritual – Creating a routine before bedtime can help you fall asleep faster. Try turning off electronics at the same time every night and create habits to make it easier to fall asleep.
