How to Stay Healthy on Vacation

Vacation season is here and while it’s important to have fun that doesn’t mean health should go out the window. Here are some great tips for how to enjoy your vacation and stay healthy at the same time:

  • Start your morning off with a 20-minute workout in your hotel room. Set an interval timer for 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. Pick a variety of leg, arm, cardio, and core exercises to rotate through for the 20 minutes.
  • Always eat a healthy breakfast! Breakfast is an easy meal to keep low key while on vacation. You can have oatmeal and fruit as a quick, healthy breakfast.
  • Pay closer attention to alcoholic beverages. While on vacation you may be drinking more than usual making it more important to stick to the lower calorie versions.
  • Don’t be tempted by “extras.” Try to avoid the free bread, chips and salsa or other pre-meal snacks. Instead just order something that will be satisfying and focus on that!
