Rinse and Refresh

How many times have you worked out and not showered or washed your face? Probably more

times than you can count, as stats tell us that about 82% of gym goers do not shower right after their

workout. You may not be alone in this, but it is a habit we suggest you break. There are numerous

reasons why taking the extra 5 - 10 minutes after your workout to rinse and refresh is beneficial for you!

The most obvious reason being all the bacteria, dirt, oil and salty sweat needs to be washed off that face of yours! Skin is more sensitive and irritable after a good old fashion sweat session, so something that contains chamomile or a cooling aloe vera could be helpful to calm your skin.

Rinsing off your face and body can prevent acne flare ups, dry skin and other various irritations. But it does more than just aid our largest organ! Have you heard of the hormone “Oxytocin”? This hormone has been proven to perk up with a nice hot shower, especially after a work out. Boosting oxytocin links you to a more positive mindset for the day.

Hot showers not your thing? That’s okay! Cold showers have shown to have even more benefits than a hot shower! Cold showers promote alertness, mental/emotional awareness and have even been used to help treat depression.
