8 Vacation Necessities for Good Health

Nutrition and well-being should go beyond your kitchen. With summer vacation right around the corner, make sure you pack the right stuff!

Traveling can be tough on the body. Planes dehydrate you, driving leads to drive-thrus, and trying new foods can upset the stomach. Here is a list of healthy snacks and travel necessities to make travel as good for your BODY as it is for your MIND!

Probiotics: Like a vitamin for your belly, take these daily while on vacation to combat the unusual or foreign-to-your-system foods. Probiotics have been found to combat harmful bacteria and aide in digestion!

Roasted Almonds: Crunchy and flavorful- these will give you the protein you need to make it to your next meal. No one needs to be hangry while stuck in traffic or boarding a plane!

Dried Apricots: Fiber, potassium, and antioxidants! So easy to pack- they are squishy and don’t mind hanging out in the bottom of your bag.

Wet Wipes: Keep your hands clean and away from your mouth!

Power Balls: These come in varieties, but in general, have some pretty amazing ingredients in them. Nuts, dried fruit, nut butter, dark chocolate, coconut flakes, etc. Here are a few variations to try out: Lemon Poppy Seed Bites Peanut Butter Energy Bites 12 Energy Ball Variations

Fresh Fruit: Fruits like apples and oranges are easy to pack and will give you fiber, vitamins, and a little hydration you will be needing for a long travel day. However, packing peaches, bananas, or other softer fruit may not be the best idea and could lead to a sticky travel bag!

Refillable Water Bottle: Fill up at any fountain you can find! Hydrating keeps your cells happy and healthy. Also, the reusable bottle saves on plastic and helps the environment.

Sun Protection: Ballcap, brimmed hat, sunglasses, and moisturizer with SPF in it. Bring them all, you will thank me later.
