With warm weather just around the corner, we as Chicagoans (or those visiting the city) must take advantage of this and get out and enjoy the weather while we have it! There are so many great things to do in this great city that involve being active.

Chicago Running Tours

This is an awesome weekend activity to do with a group of friends, or join the group by yourself and make friends there! There are many different routes to do on with varying distances, speed, and attractions. You can choose from runs downtown in the Loop, to northern neighborhood runs, to brewery and beer runs! You can even personalize a run with a group or solo with one of their trained running coaches. This is definitely something to check out.

Divvy Bikes

If you walk anywhere in the city, you are bound to come across at least one rack of the famous blue Divvy bikes. These are a great way to get around that are not only convenient, but cheaper than cabs, environmentally friendly, and a great way to be active on the weekend. The Beach(es)!

Since we are living in sub freezing temperatures for what feels like 1⁄2 of the year, we might forget that we are close to a number of fabulous beaches. From Oak street, to North ave, to Montrose, they’re all great. In Chicago you get best of three worlds; the fast pace city buzz of downtown, the quieter neighborhoods, the sandy beaches that boarder Lake Michigan. Go out to one of the many beaches and throw around a Frisbee, join a beach volleyball game, build a sand castle with the kids, or run along the lake front.
