My Inspiration: Success is what inspires me to do what I do. Fitness is something that no matter where you are in life you can find success. When you see someone find themselves through fitness and you see the success it brings in so many facets of their life it inspires you to do the same. I have seen this is many people over the past few years in the fitness industry, but the first person I recognized this in was myself. Anytime I have been going through a personal challenge in life (academic, career, physical, emotional, etc.) I always turned my focus to bettering myself through fitness. By doing so I was able to get that part of my life back on track, showing myself that I still have the discipline, determination, drive, and focus it takes to succeed! That always drives me to then be a better person and fuel other successes around me.

Favorite Teaching Moment:

My favorite teaching moment happened recently during a 30-minute boxing session. The person had been going through a tough time so I figured it would be good to have a good cardiovascular session while letting them release a little aggression. After the session, the person had a huge smile on their face and was so amped up. They told me that is was the perfect workout and the best one they had ever completed! That feeling of satisfaction knowing I had put together a workout that truly worked for them showed me that I am making a difference for people.

Fitness Philosophy:

Be consistent. Success in fitness comes from the discipline of making sure you complete your workout every day, you hold yourself accountable to what you eat, and you keep pushing forward even when it is easy to quit. #headdown #keepgrinding

Favorite Workout:

My favorite workouts are usually a mixture of heavy weighted compound lifts and plyometric/athletic movements.

Warm-up
Decline box jumps 10 reps

Working Sets
-Back Squat 4x6
-Push Press 4x6

Circuit #1
-Sled Push Sprints 40 yards (95lbs)
-Max height box jump 5 reps
-Wall Ball 15 reps
complete 3 times

Circuit #2
-Front Squat 135lbs 5 reps fast
-Incline Dumbbell Press 70lbs. 5 reps fast
-Overhead walking lunges 75 lbs 12 reps
complete 3 times

Try to complete in 45 mins!

Favorite Workout Snacks:

  • Pre Workout Snack: Banana and any Green Juice
  • Post Workout Snack: Chocolate Orgain Organic Protein Shake with Udi's Gluten Free Bread

Random Fact:

I am terrified of butterflies. I have had tuberculosis (latent and I have been treated), one shoulder surgery, and now two hip surgeries (as I just had my most recent one on October 5th!)
Also, my wife and I are expecting our first child, Croix Thomas Brunet, February 2018!
